Every talk is built on one message: wherever you are in life, you can create things and make them happen. Each can be adapted to your audience, from students to professionals to entrepreneurs.

The Baby Room

Why we stay in the safe zone, and how to step out of it

As babies, we are nurtured and kept safe. When life gets hard, most of us run back to that room, where nothing is asked of us and nothing is risked. But life keeps bringing challenges, and challenges are risks. This talk looks honestly at why we retreat, what staying costs us, and how to walk out of the baby room.

Your audience will leave with:

  • A clear view of where fear is holding them back
  • A way to tell the difference between real danger and comfortable avoidance
  • The first step out of the safe zone

The Shelf

The ideas we put away, and what happens when we take them down

We all have a shelf in our minds. Sometimes we put an idea in a box and push it farther back so we don’t have to look at it. I watched ideas go unused, and I decided that when my ideas came, I would at least try. If I failed, that was okay. This talk is about finding your shelf and acting on what’s on it.

Your audience will leave with:

  • A way to revisit the ideas they set aside
  • A mindset that treats trying as a win, even if it fails
  • Permission to start

Start Small, Risk Smart

Begin with the skills you already have

You don’t need a fortune, a perfect plan or a big team to begin. Many of my ventures started with almost no money, a skill I already had, and a problem someone needed solved. This talk shows how to take manageable risks, build on what you know, and use each step to open the next.

Your audience will leave with:

  • A practical way to start with the resources in front of them
  • A framework for measuring risk instead of fearing it
  • Confidence that starting from nothing is possible

Reshaping

Adapting through pandemics, wars, economic difficulty and life changes

Crises close doors, and they open others. In every difficult period, some businesses and people collapse while others adapt and keep going, and some start something new. This talk draws on my own experience of reshaping through major disruptions, and shows how to make decisions when the ground is moving.

Your audience will leave with:

  • A way to stay decisive when circumstances change
  • Tools for adapting instead of freezing
  • The mindset that turns disruption into opportunity
