Over the years I’ve started businesses in very different fields. Some began with almost no money, some took real commitment and risk, and every one began with a skill I already had and a problem worth solving. Here are the kinds of ventures I’ve built and what each one taught me.
Consulting and Problem-Solving
I built a consulting business that helped companies of all sizes find their problems and fix them. It taught me that if you can solve problems for people, you will never be without opportunity.
IT and Business Consulting
I combined technology with business strategy to help companies operate better. It taught me that technology matters most when it solves a real business need.
Online Businesses
I started online ventures, including a credit repair service and an eBay business, many of them with very little startup money. They taught me that you don’t need a large investment to begin, only a service people value and the willingness to organize it.
Graphic Design, Web Design and Coding
I taught myself design, coding and WordPress, then offered those skills to businesses. It taught me that learning one new skill can open an entire business.
Web and Search Visibility
I built a company that helped businesses get found on Google through organic search, in some cases reaching the top of the results within about a month. It taught me that visibility is a decision, and that the right expertise changes results fast.
Media and Music Production
I produced television shows, commercials, live shows, music and videos. It taught me that creative skills are business skills.
Marketing and Business Development
I helped businesses market their products and services, from websites and design to search and strategy, including helping launch new restaurants and hotels. It taught me that a good plan and a clear message matter as much as the product.
Tourism and Travel
I founded a tour business and built the digital systems behind it. It taught me that every skill from earlier ventures can be combined into something new.
Software and Digital Products
I develop WordPress themes and plugins, including a booking platform for tour operators. It taught me that solving your own problem can become a product for others.
The Common Thread
No single path led here. Each venture grew from the one before it, using what I’d learned, taking manageable risks and adapting when circumstances changed. That is The R Factor, and it’s what I bring to every audience I speak to.
